Welcome to New York’s Columbia-Greene Chapter of the Friends of NRA!
The Friends of NRA (FNRA) is a volunteer, non-political, branch of the National Rifle Association dedicated to the furtherment of the shooting sports. Please view our about us section to learn more of our organization and goals.
As a local chapter of the national Friends of NRA, we operate in Columbia and Greene counties in a very grassroots manner. The funds generated are used for worthwhile projects at the local, state and national levels. Please view our accomplishments section to learn how greatly supportive your contributions have been, and how carefully we have stewarded your donations, to programs and shooting clubs local to both Columbia and Greene counties.
We are perhaps most known for our annual banquets, highlighted by the drawing of the raffle for the NRA’s Gun-of-the-Year (GOTY). This year, we are fortunate to have a Benelli Ultra Light 12 Gauge Shotgun. Our next banquet will be held September 8, 2012. If helping out our great causes interests you, further information, as well as an application, can be found at our events page.
We have been very fortunate to have many businesses and individuals assist us with our mission. We appreciate their generosity and publicly thank them on our sponsors page. We encourage you to patronize them as they are strongly supporting the causes you believe in and benefit from.
Our committee is composed of volunteers from many walks of life, all of whom share the vision than we can all make a difference. Please let us introduce ourselves by visiting our committee members page.
For those who might be interested in learning more about how to assist us, or join the committee, more information can be found on the join us page. If you would like to help these causes, but presently find your time stretched too thin, you can help by making a donation, either financial or of property.
We have reserved a section of our website to be a conduit for enthusiasts seeking information on the activities of conservation and shooting organizations in Columbia and Greene counties. If you would like to have your club’s events listed, please contact us us with the pertinent information and we will show them on our calendar.
